The difference in the new model was that it had multiple soft, flat-ended nylon bristles. Okay, there is still one question left about this successful Oral-Care company. Where did Oral-B get its name from? Apparently, it stands for ‘Oral Brush.’ I mean, I guess it makes sense. Dr. Joseph Lawrence, the creator and Robert Wood Johnson, founder of the group that markets the product to this day (Johnson & Johnson group). In 1879, Dr. Joseph Lawrence combined a formula in his laboratories. Of course, he was inspired by Sir. Joseph Lister, which is who he named the company after.
