If you get a milk stain on your clothes, simply soak the stain in Coke for about five minutes and then throw it in the washing machine. Once you take it out, it should look as good as new. Most of us know the tragic story about the 1985 New Coke debut. Although it wasn’t very successful, the recipe stayed around much longer than expected. Most people did not enjoy the new drink, so just three months later, Coca-Cola brought back their original formula. However, what we didn’t know is that they rebranded New Coke as Coke II and continued to sell it all the way until 2002.

Tenderize Meat

Like we mentioned earlier, Coke can be a good ingredient for BBQ sauce, but it can be a good ingredient to add in other foods as well. One of the best things you can add to meat is Coke. Because of how sweet and acidic the Coke is, it will tenderize your meat, and it works wonders as a marinade. It will infuse flavor into the meat, making it soft and delicious. This hack works best if you soak the meat for about 8 hours or even overnight.

Soothe a Jellyfish Sting

The reason why Coca-Cola has healing capabilities on jellyfish stings has been debated for years. An Australian study from 1993 showed that putting Coca-Cola on a jellyfish sting helps reduce the pain by about 25-75%. Not bad. Vinegar is probably the best option. Unfortunately, nobody walks around with a bottle of vinegar in their back pocket. You are way more likely to have quick access to Coke when you’re at the beach.

Fun fact: When Coca-Cola was promoting “Coke in the Morning,” the company was conscientious about its marketing campaign. They made it seem that Coke was easier to access than a hot cup of water. Hair Curler

Using Diet Coca-Cola cans as hair curlers were made famous by Lady Gaga when she did it in her “Telephone” music video. You just add a little hairspray and blow-dry your hair. Once your hair dries and cools down, take the cans out. Basically, the same way you would use regular hair curlers. Real curlers will probably work better, but if you don’t have any on hand, this can be a great replacement.

The Coca-Cola formula can go as far as to get your windows clean. Thanks to the citric acid, this hack works just as well as regular cleaning products that contain citrus fruit. Bug Control

Coca-Cola can work wonderfully as bug control, but hold on a second. It’s not what you think. The sweet syrup in Coca-Cola can easily attract ants. The ants will eat the larva of pests and insects that can actually destroy your crops. If pests are a problem for you, this hack really works. Fun fact: We already stated that The Coca-Cola Company makes so many different drinks. However, it’s really hard to understand the extent. With over 500 brands and more than 3,500 products, nine years sounds about right.

Color Fader

Coca-Cola is believed to be able to lighten your hair. Thanks to the amount of Citric acid that Coke contains, it’s not that surprising. The claim has been denied, but people still try, and some say it works. Whether or not this works is highly debated, but it’s worth a shot. Apparently, this hack worked for plenty of women who saved some money on hair dye.

If you took just the 8-ounce bottles and laid them end to end, the bottles would reach the moon and back over 2,000 times. That is a lot of Coke, and this is just the 8-ounce bottles. Plus, we’re only talking about Coke here, not the thousands of other drinks that the Coca-Cola Company distributes.

The acid will literally remove the frost, and you can drive safely. If you live in a cold or snowy area, this is a good one!

Here is another way to put the amount of Coke in perspective for you. Say you took all the Coca-Cola vending machines around the world and stacked them up (which add up to 2.8 million machines), they would take up about 150.2 million cubic feet of space. If you aren’t good with numbers, this is the size of the Empire State Building… but times four!

Compost Invigorator

Compost is a decayed organic material used as a plant fertilizer. When the matter gets decomposed, the process is called composting. Well, if you have a slow-moving compost pile, you can give it an energy boost with a shot of Coca-Cola. The citric acid in the Coke will speed up the decomposition of organic material. This will entice the micro-organisms that help compost piles.

Fun fact: There are only 33 non-alcoholic brands in the world that make over $1 billion in revenue. Guess what: Coke owns 15 of them! This isn’t very shocking considering how many brands are Coca-Cola; you just don’t know they are. On average, each person drinks a Coke product every four days. I mean, if you’re drinking a soft drink, chances are its Coca-Cola.

Curly Hair

This is different than the Coke can curler hack that was popularized by Lady Gaga. This one was made famous by a British supermodel named Suki Waterhouse, (star of Insurgent). She revealed to US Weekly that she uses Coca-Cola to wash her hair. Suddenly, women all over the place using soda in an attempt to get their hair looking full and curly like the gorgeous model’s looks.

While apple’s advertising budget is at $691 million (as of 2010) and Microsoft spends about $1.6 billion on advertising (as of 2010), Coca-Cola’s advertising budget reaches $2.9 billion. Wow! I mean, if they have that much money to spend on ads, clearly they don’t need customers.

Paint Remover

The chemical compounds that make up Coca-Cola allow removing paint from all kinds of stuff. This even works with metal objects, and if you get paint on your furniture, have no fear. Simply soak a towel with Coke, and it will rub right off. Don’t forget to rub it off with soap and water afterward. You don’t want your furniture to get all sticky!

With 39 grams of sugar per serving, the average person consumes 10.8 pounds of Coke yearly! This obviously doesn’t include the non-Coke brand sugar we put in our bodies.

Oil Remover

Oil is arguably the most stubborn stain to get rid of. Well, lucky for you, the phosphoric acid that Coca-Cola contains is strong enough to help you will that. If you have some oil stains around the garage, pour some Coca-Cola over it (preferably room temperature). Make sure to let it soak up overnight. The next day takes a towel and watches the oil come right off.

Fun fact: Considering the amount of Coke and sugar that Americans alone consume, this statistic may shock you. Apparently, Mexicans drink more than American, British, Indian, and Chinese all together! All these countries combined consume 642 servings of Coke each year. Just Mexicans alone consume 665 servings on average per year.

Blood Stain Cleaner

For years we have heard claims that Coca-Cola can help remove blood stains, but nobody was ever certain about whether or not this actually works. Well, Mythbusters tested this out so that we wouldn’t have to. It concluded that Coke-Cola was able to help remove the stains. If you ever think your clothes are ruined because of a bloodstain, don’t try using Coke to remove it.

It adds up to about 17.4% of the entire US aluminum industry produces. Wow! I can’t even comprehend that amount of aluminum. I just hope most of us recycle these soda cans.

Sepia Photo Finishing

If you like the rustic vintage style, Coca-Cola can bring it into your life! Pouring Coke on certain items can almost dye them to the caramel Coke color. This specifically works with photos. Put a black and white picture into Coca-Cola, and it will give you a sepia color. You don’t even need a filter!

We already discussed the un-comprehendible amount of Coke that human being consumes yearly, but get ready for this one. Each second, more than 10,000 Coca-Cola soft drinks are being consumed. This obviously includes Fanta, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, and the classic Coca-Cola and diet Coke variations. Still, that is 10,000 each second, which is disgusting. I mean, if it cleans your toilet, just imagine what it does to your body.

Fun fact: Did you know that we can thank Coca-Cola for Santa Clause? At least for the Santa Clause, we all recognize today. Santa wasn’t always the jolly man dressed in red. Many people were surprised to find out that Santa Clause looked much different before 1931. He was more of a creepy elf looking guy. Coca-Cola completely rebranded Santa Clause, giving him the red outfit when they used him in an advertisement.

Lawn Care

Reportedly, if you mix up Coca-Cola with some other strange ingredients, it can help your lawn. All you need is a can of Coke, a can of beer, some liquid dish soap, mouthwash, and household ammonia. Combine all these ingredients to keep your lawn looking green and fresh. The soap will help penetrate the roots, and the ammonia will stimulate growth, brightening up the grass.

I know you were wondering about this. Yes, in the beginning, Coca-Cola did have some cocaine in it. When it was invented in the 19th century, Coke was sold as medicine, which included cocaine. They soon reduced the amount leaving only a trace of cocaine before completely removing it from the Coca-Cola formula in 1903.

Prevent an Asthma Attack

In 2010, a study was conducted and found that caffeine helps open airways, which relieves asthma symptoms. Fun fact: In 1985, Coca-Cola became the first soft drink in outer space. NASA confirmed that it beat Pepsi by just 8 hours. I think many people are aware of the 1960’s space race, but if you ask me, this is the space race that counts! Coke enjoyed this victory and bragged about it with full-page ads in the newspapers. Why not? It’s quite an accomplishment.

Help an Upset Stomach

Just to be clear, there is absolutely no scientific evidence to back up the fact that Cola-Cola can help cure a stomach ache, it just works! Many people swear that this remedy is helpful. There are some researchers at the University of Athens that said Coca-Cola might be helpful with stomach blockage since it has chemical ingredients similar to gastric acid. Although this helps digest fibers, there is no science to prove it cures stomach aches in general. Just trust us with this one.

Fun fact: Did you know that Coca-Cola still uses the exact script logo that Frank Robinson created in 1981? Robinson was the official Coke founder and a bookkeeper. This talented man could have been an artist, as well.

Well, if nothing worked for you, this tip might help. Many people have reported that gargling Coca-Cola can help with hiccups. This obviously doesn’t work for every single person, but it’s definitely worth a shot.

Fun fact: Not many people know the secret ingredient that makes Coca-Cola so delicious. Apparently, there are only 2 Coca-Cola executives who know the formula, and they are reportedly not allowed to be on the same plane. This is because if the plane crashes and both executives die, the recipe will be gone forever. That’s how the myth goes, but I’m sure they have a copy written down somewhere for emergencies.

Clean Tile Grout

As you probably noticed from many of these hacks, Coca-Cola seems to have some magical cleaning powers. These cleaning powers extend to tile and grout, as well. All you have to do is let the grout soak with Coke for a few minutes and then wipe it up.

We all know that the Coke/Coca part of Coca-Cola is most likely referring to the cocaine that was part of Coca-Cola’s original recipe. That Cola part is named after the Kola nut. This nut found in West Africa and is packed with caffeine. Apparently, this Kola nut (part of the cacao family) was part also part of Coca-Cola’s original formula. It has even been reported that the kola nut is still used, but we will never know for sure.

Body Lotion

Apparently, adding a spoon full of Coca-Cola to a regular lotion will help give your skin a silkier look. I mean, this is a hack I don’t feel the need to try. I think lotion on its own will make my skin looking smooth. Coke will just make me stickier. Even though I’m not brave enough to try this, there are plenty of people swearing by this hack! Some people even say it works as a tanning lotion too.

Remove Marker Stains

Permanent markers are meant to be permanent! This makes it almost impossible to get permanent marker stains off of anything. Well, once again, Coke can solve your problems. If you stained your clothes, simply soak the stain in Coca-Cola to remove it. However, if the marker gets on furniture or the walls, try using a stain marker to remove it.

Fun fact: Coca-Cola invented the coupon! Apparently, the reason why Coca-Cola became so popular so fast was that they offered sample coupons! The company sent sample coupons to many different towns and cities where they were distributed everywhere! Even back in 1890, everyone loved free stuff! I don’t know if this was a marketing technique or not, but it definitely expanded the popularity of Coke.

Deep Tan Danger

Many people have spoken about using Coca-Cola (and some other soft drinks) as a homemade tanning solution. However, this isn’t the best idea. Although claims are stating that this works, it actually provides zero protection against the sun. This trend started back in 2006, when Australian entertainer, Peter Andre, said she covered himself in Coca-Cola before sunbathing. Ingredients such as citric acid and lime juice can actually be harmful to your skin and much more sensitive to sunlight.

Make a Battery

This is a fun little science project! You can transform a can of Coke into an actual battery! All you need to do is grab a penny (maybe a nice shiny one that you cleaned with Coca-Cola), some crocodile lips, and wire wool. Umm… the fact that Coke can become a 0.6 volts power battery makes it even more concerning that people put this stuff in their body.

Fun fact: Did you know Coca-Cola was the first Olympic sponsor ever for the Olympics? It was for the Summer Games hosted in Amsterdam back in 1928. This was only the first year that the Olympic Flame was lit, and the first time the Olympics presented the parade of nations. This was a year of firsts for the Olympics, and Coca-Cola had a part in it.

Sore Throat Healer

You probably heard that Coca –Cola can be used to heal a sore throat. There are some people (usually grandmas) that mix lemon and ginger with the Coke for even better results. Drinking soda isn’t the greatest idea when you are sick. Grandmas are usually right, so if you use this remedy, make sure to drink some water so that you won’t get dehydrated.

Fun fact: When Coca-Cola first started advertising, they marketed the drink as a nerve tonic that “relieves exhaustion” and promoted it as an “intellectual beverage.” This was technically true at the time because it contained the Kola bean, which is packed with caffeine. It was basically like drinking a coffee. Today we know a lot more about nutrients and the amount of unhealthy sugar than Coke actually contains.

Relieve Constipation

It is pretty well known that caffeine has a laxative effect. However, this varies with each person based on their tolerance for caffeine. Theoretically, Coca-Cola could work as a home remedy for constipation. If this method works for you, don’t forget to use Coke to clean the toilet!

Fun fact: Did you know that Coca-Cola doesn’t have any taste memory? This means a person will never get sick of it, similarly to water. I guess this could explain why so many people are addicted to it as well. I mean, we all know sugar is highly addictive (even more than nicotine), so it makes sense that people keep wanting more and more! I wonder if Coca-Cola purposely made the drink with no taste memory so that people will keep drinking more.

Remove Glue

There are many tales and myths out there about Coca-Cola. One of the popular ones says that it can remove the glue. Similarly to sticky gum in your hair, the Coke will break down the adhesive properties of glue and make it no longer sticky. This works if the glue is on your clothes, body, or even furniture.

Fun fact: In 1932, Coca-Cola decided to invent the six-pack to encourage people to drink more Coke. The encouragement is a good way to sell their products. However, it’s not safe. A mother of 8 passed away after she drank two gallons of Coke every day for several years. The autopsy later revealed that Coke ruined her liver, heart, and teeth. Sadly she was just 30 years old, and this story should really be told. It may save a life.

Relieve a Headache

When Coca-Cola first the market, it was invented and advertised and a cure to headaches. The caffeine in Coca-Cola helped reduce inflammation, which will relieve the pain. Apparently, if you drink Coke while taking Advil (or any other pain killer), it will make the medicine work faster.

Fun fact: Coca-Cola is a Georgia native. It was created in 1886 by John Pemberton. Although the secret formula is a guarded secret, Pemberton is the one who came up with the most popular soft drink ever created. If you ever visit Atlanta, Georgia, make sure to stop World of Coca-Cola, the Coca-Cola Factory that will teach you all about the Coca-Cola Company and how it started. Plus, there is a gift shop filled with Coca-Cola merch!

Clean Mold and Mildew from Clothes

Putting Coca-Cola on your washing machine doesn’t seem like such a smart idea. However, many people don’t agree with me. Apparently, as long as you are still using laundry detergent, adding Coke will help get rid of mold and mildew that might be on your clothes. It also works with stains and grease. What I want to know is how someone figured out this hack? Who would willingly add Coke to their laundry just to see what happens?

Fun fact: this is an interesting one for you. Apparently, Coca-Cola (especially diet Coke) can be used as an effective spermicide. This has been reported and never proven, so it shouldn’t be used as a form of Birth Control.
