The hit action series ‘NCIS’ (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) has featured many notable and strong female characters over the years. While some of the compelling female characters have come and gone, some have been on the show for many seasons. All of them have made an impression. So much so, that many of us wonder what they’re like in real life and where are they now?
Even with the plethora of options of crime dramas available on TV these days, ‘NCIS’ has managed to stand out and stand strong over the years. The show has been on the air since 2003, which says a lot in the cutthroat world of the television industry. Much of the show’s success is due to the plot itself, the setting (the ‘NCIS’ team focuses on crimes within the Navy and Marines), and of course, the characters. Viewers can connect to these women of ‘NCIS’ and this is why we all want to know what they’re up to now.
Scottie Thompson as Dr. Jeanne Benoit
In 2006, Dr. Jeanne came onto the show as the new girlfriend of Tony DiNozzo. As the show progressed, it was revealed that her father was Rene Benoit, a renowned arms dealer. Nonetheless, Jeanne still managed to charm the team despite that.
The fans of ‘NCIS’ were eagerly waiting and hoping that she would go back to Tony since the two split up before her first departure from the show in 2008.
That’s her character. But in real life…
Scottie Thompson in the Real World
The 37-year-old actress did make a comeback as Jeanne in 2015, but for only two episodes. It still was fun for fans to see her though. But aside from acting, Thompson has done other stuff, like appear in the music video for the song ‘What do you got’ by Bon Jovi.
Thompson also made a debut in popular movies such as ‘Star Trek’ in 2009 as Nero’s wife, ‘Skyline’ as Elaine, and ‘The Funhouse Massacre’ as Sheriff Kate. She’s also played Vivian in the series ’12 Monkeys.’ Right now, she’s doing some big acting projects that will be coming out sooner than later.
Stephanie Mello as Cynthia Sumner
Cynthia was featured in 13 episodes on ‘NCIS’, as a personal secretary for a member of the U.S. Navy. Cynthia was the smart secretary in her chic attire, mostly wearing suits. Her character only had a short amount of time on the show.
Regardless of the short time span, she had the time to be in a stormy relationship with Leroy Gibbs, who would constantly barge into the office spontaneously. Fans really loved her and her believable character.
Stephanie Mello in Real Life
It’s been a while since she’s been on the show, about 12 years to be exact! And since then, Stephanie hasn’t left the spotlight. She actually has done a lot of commercial work, having been featured in over 100 television commercials.
Stephanie isn’t walking around in real life in her suits every day but she has kept her hairstyle. Stephanie still has her short, extremely curly brown hair that sits about shoulder length.
The next ‘NCIS’ star also made a short but sweet appearance on the show.
Jennifer Esposito as Alexandra Quinn
Alexandra’s character on the show was short-lived but still sweet. She managed to leave a lasting impression on the members of her crime-fighting team as well as the viewers. She was only part of the group for one season.
Alexandra’s style would wear mostly casual shirts and had light brown mid-length hair that she wore down. She left the show after one season as her character needed to leave to take care of her mother who had developed Alzheimer’s.
Next in real life, Jennifer Esposito…
Jennifer Esposito Off the Set
Since she left the show in 2017, the 46-year-old has appeared in a number of TV series. She also made her hair color darker, with a dark hombre look. Her look is quite different from her time as Jenny on the show.
We haven’t seen her back on TV just yet, but that could all change as she is credited as one of the leads in the film ‘Cigarette’ that was recently in the post-production phase. We look forward to seeing what she has to offer us next!
Tamara Taylor as Cassie Yates
Cassie came onto the show in 2005 and appeared in just two episodes. She was a strong character, though, who worked as a special agent for NCIS who wasn’t scared of wearing a memorable red dress in her first episode.
Cassie was all about wearing her hair tied back most of the time with her bangs down stylishly. And when she did, it went a little past her shoulders. Apart from her red dress, Cassie also wore the standard NCIS suit on the show.
Tamara Taylor in Real Life
Tamara did quite a bit of modeling before her time on ‘NCIS’, so you can say that she’s used to being in the spotlight. After she left her short period on the show, Tamara landed a role on ‘Bones’ where she chopped all her hair off.
Since then, however, she has been spotted with longer hair but she’s still as elegant as ever. When we see her at red carpet events, she always steals the show with her sophisticated and chic style. She is still in the industry, continuing to act and has more projects in making.
Jessica Steen as Paula Cassidy
Paula’s first appearance on the show was in 2003 and it was in the first season. She appeared in six episodes in total but over a long-range, with her last appearance in 2015. Paula played a strong female role in the show.
She wore lots of power suits that went well with her short strawberry blonde hair pulled back out of her face. She was the police interrogator at first but was asked to join the NCIS team as a criminal profiler after there was an accident on her team that ended badly.
Jessica Steen Off Set
Before she got the role on the show, Jessica had been in a bunch of movies and television shows, including ‘Homefront’, ‘Earth 2’, ‘Monk’, and ‘The Outer Limits’. Since then, she went on to do some leading roles.

Nina Foch as Mrs. Victoria Mallard
Remember Ducky Mallard’s mother, Victoria? She was introduced on the show in 2005 but was only in two episodes. Victoria was also accompanied by her dogs, her corgis, but she left the show in 2006 when her son confesses that she moved away after developing Alzheimer’s.
The truth of the story was different, though. The reality was that his mother had passed away, which was discovered after Abby follows Ducky. He was actually visiting her grave instead.
In real life, Nina Foch is up to…

In her later life, Nina was still rocking her blonde hairdo but had cut her hair short, as many older women tend to do. Sadly, Nina passed away back in 2008 at the age of 84. She will be missed and her legacy will live on.

Jackie has been a recurring character on the show and still is in the latest season. It looks like she’s here to stay, for now at least. But have you wondered what she’s up to today off the set? You probably recognize her from other things…
