Fans of the Kardashian family have been following their lives since the mid-2000s. We have watched them go through the ups and downs of living in the spotlight. While the family chose to invite the cameras into their lives, no one has been more candid than Khloe Kardashian.
The world watched as she dealt with things like questioning who her father was, getting married and divorced, and going through multiple cheating scandals while she was pregnant. Many people love Khloe for her no-BS attitude and her hilarious antics, but even her biggest fans don’t know all of her secrets.
In the Spotlight From the Start
As the third child of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian Sr., Khloe Kardashian was only seven when her parents divorced, and Kris married Caitlyn Jenner (then Bruce). Even before the cameras came into their home, the Kardashians garnered public attention when Robert Sr. became OJ Simpson’s defense lawyer.
At just ten years old, Khloe had to choose sides between her mom and dad as they sat on different sides of the courtroom during the infamous murder trial. It was a lot to comprehend for such a young child, and it shaped her outlook on life. It also affected her self-esteem.
She Felt Like an Outsider
During her school years, Khloe went to Bel Air Prep, Saint Martin of Tours School, Daniel Webster Middle School, AE Wright Middle School, and Montclair Prep. She bounced around a lot because she didn’t feel like she fit in with the students at any of these institutions.
Khloe briefly attended Marymount High School with her older sisters, but once they graduated, she felt there was no reason for her to stay. Khloe forged some paperwork before convincing her parents that homeschooling was right for her. She ended up graduating a year early with honors at age 17.
She Was a Celebrity Assistant
Before her family landed a reality show, Khloe worked as an assistant for Nicole Richie. They went to school together and were best friends growing up. When Richie started filming Simple Life, she needed help, and Khloe needed a job. Richie hired her to do random tasks that she didn’t have time for.
Khloe later said that she wasn’t Richie’s assistant for long as she then shot to fame with her family. However, even though Khloe stopped working for her, she and Richie remain close friends. That must have been why it was so strange when Scott Disick dated Richie’s younger sister, Sofia.
She Got Her First Tattoo at 16
Although it wasn’t exactly legal, Khloe managed to convince a tattoo artist to give her some ink on her lower back. She was only 16, and Richie went with her. Interestingly, the tattoo was a cross with the word “Daddy” written over it to honor her father.
Like most things we do when we are young, Khloe regretted the tattoo. By 2015, she was so sick of it that she chose to have it removed. She still wanted something on her body to remember her father, so she got the words “I love you” in his handwriting tattooed on her wrist.
She Got in a Serious Car Accident
When Khloe was just 17, she got in a serious car accident and was thrown through the windshield. The 2001 incident gave her a bad concussion, and she was lucky to come out of it with just that. However, the concussion has left lasting damage.
Khloe hasn’t discussed the details of the accident, but she has talked about how it affected her memory. On an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she sought advice from a neurologist for her struggles with memory due to her injury.
She Almost Went to Rehab
When Khloe’s father died in 2003, it took her down a dark path. She was only 19 when he passed away, and it hit her the hardest. Khloe said she was an emotional wreck at his funeral because she didn’t want to believe he was gone.
She then started drinking to “drown her sorrows.” Khloe said, “The partying got so out of hand. I was underage and behaving recklessly in clubs and at private parties.” Her binge drinking turned into binge eating, and she considered going to rehab but got a handle on things.
She Didn’t Want to Be on TV
When E! approached the Kardashians for a reality series, Khloe wasn’t interested in participating. Kourtney also wasn’t on board, but the network would only do the show if the whole family was involved, and Khloe didn’t want to ruin the opportunity for her family.
Kris had to do a lot of convincing to get Khloe and Kourtney on board. Producer Ryan Seacrest promised that the show would film at their newly opened clothing boutique, DASH, so they would see it as a business opportunity to promote their store.
The Show Made Her Insecure
When KUWTK first premiered in 2007, Khloe felt like the “background” sister. She was labeled the “funny, fat” sister because she looked different from Kim and Kourtney. Khloe admitted that she only felt insecure after the show started because people pointed out her flaws.
Kourtney and Kim would get better treatment at photoshoots, and stylists would only give her two or three outfits because she was “going to be in the background anyway.” It was really hard for her to get over her insecurities in front of the cameras.
Her Infamous DUI
In March 2007, the world watched as Khloe was arrested for a DUI. We all remember the iconic scene where the family is driving to pick Khloe up from jail, and Kim is busy taking selfies in the car. Her mugshot also became a piece of KUWTK history.
The following year, she had to report to jail for violating her probation. However, she was released after three hours due to overcrowding. Khloe had to enroll in an alcohol treatment program as part of her punishment. She had one of the shortest prison stints.
Who’s Her Daddy?
Khloe has always looked slightly different from her older sisters, Kourtney and Kim. She is much taller than them and has a different complexion. When Kris admitted that she cheated on their father, Robert Sr., Khloe questioned if Rob was really her father.
During an episode of KUWTK, Khloe decided to take a DNA test to prove that she was her father’s daughter. The results showed that her mom wasn’t lying about the identity of Khloe’s father. However, rumors circulated that OJ could have been her real dad.
She Has Always Loved Athletes
After KUWTK became a hit, Khloe and her family shot to fame, and she got to meet a lot of public figures. In 2009, she briefly dated NBA player Rashad McCants. While filming an episode of her spin-off show, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Khloe shared that McCants cheated on her.
That same year, Khloe was also linked to Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Derrick Ward. The pair were photographed together in Mexico while celebrating Kourtney’s 30th birthday. Those relationships didn’t work out, but she would soon meet her first husband.
She Married Him After a Month
After her fling with Ward ended, Khloe met NBA player Lamar Odom at a nightclub in 2009. After their first encounter, she initially had no interest in him, but he kept pursuing her. They were inseparable within a few weeks, and their relationship moved quickly.
Odom proposed to Khloe after three weeks of knowing her. When Khloe told her family about the engagement on KUWTK, there were mixed reactions. To top it off, she told Kris that she wanted to plan her wedding in seven days. But the momager can handle anything.
The Network Paid for Her Wedding
Although Khloe only gave her mom a week to plan the wedding, it was still a luxurious affair. The whole thing cost about $1 million to pull off on such short notice, but it is said that E! paid for everything because they knew it would bring in high ratings.
The wedding took place at a family friend’s Bel Air mansion, and the guest list was star-studded. Celebrities like Ryan Seacrest, Chelsea Handler, Kobe Bryant, and Kelly Osbourne were in attendance. Khloe wore a custom Vera Wang gown, and her sisters were her bridesmaids.
She Hated This Reality Show
In 2009, Khloe appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice 2. She later admitted that she regretted participating in the show because she “hated every minute” of it. Khloe said she would never consider doing something like that again. She finished 10th out of 16.
She was reportedly fired because of her previous DUI arrest. Khloe said she only participated in the show because Kris thought it would be a good idea. While she has grown into a smart businesswoman, maybe she wasn’t cut out for it back then.
Not So Happy Marriage
Khloe and Odam seemed incredibly happy, so E! gave them a spin-off called Khloe & Lamar. Premiering in 2011, the show detailed the couple’s daily life and struggles when Khloe’s brother, Rob, moved in with the newlywed couple. It was popular enough to run for two seasons.
While the couple’s marriage seemed like it was going well, off-camera, there was trouble brewing. Around 2012, rumors started to circulate that Khloe and Odom were having problems, but no one really knew the extent until Khloe filed for divorce the following year.
She Uncovered the Truth
Although Odom played for the LA Lakers, he was on the road a lot. Things got more complicated when Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. He was away for longer periods, and he was reportedly cheating on Khloe during that time.
Khloe had no reason to believe Odom was being unfaithful because he prioritized their relationship. But rumors were coming out every week in gossip columns. Khloe took matters into her own hands and followed Odom to a hotel, where she found him surrounded by women and drugs.
She Had to Leave
It was too much for Khloe to process. Odom had been missing for 72 hours, and she couldn’t believe what he had been doing that whole time. In the months he had been cheating, Odom also formed a drug habit, and Khloe didn’t want to stick around.
In December 2013, Khloe filed for divorce. She was devastated, and the aftermath of their breakup played out on KUWTK. While she thought Odom loved her, Khloe felt betrayed but tried to get back in the dating game. It didn’t take long for her to meet a new man.
She Tried to Move On
Although she was still legally married to Odom, Khloe had many men waiting to woo her. She started dating rapper French Montana shortly after she filed for divorce. The two kept their relationship quiet and were on and off for about a year until December 2014.
When the couple split, Khloe said she wasn’t ready for a serious relationship after her failed marriage. During an episode of Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons, Khloe said, “I jumped into something because I was lonely and destructive, but now I want to be alone.”
Everything Was Put on Hold
Khloe might have filed for divorce at the end of 2013, but she put everything on hold in 2015 when Odom overdosed in a brothel in Nevada. He suffered several strokes and heart attacks. He also experienced liver and kidney failure from the drugs.
Khloe and her family rushed to be by Odom’s side, despite everything he had done to her. He was in a coma for four days, and everyone thought he wouldn’t make it. However, Odom woke up to see Khloe by his side. She spent six months helping him recover.
It Was Finally Over
She stuck by his side until Odom was back on his feet, but Khloe’s divorce was finalized in December 2016. Odom had put her through enough, and Khloe was ready to put it behind her. However, over the years, Odom has expressed that he still loves her.
Odom shared that he regretted cheating on Khloe, but the damage was already done. Once the divorce was finalized, she distanced herself from the former basketball player. She helped him as much as she could, but she needed to take care of herself.
Getting Her “Revenge”
While Khloe was taking care of Odom, she decided to channel her stress into a helpful outlet. In the past, Khloe used unhealthy diets like QuickTrim (for which she was a spokesperson), but in 2015, she got serious about her health. She got on an eating plan and started working out.
Khloe got her “revenge body” by sticking to a routine. She said going to the gym helped with a lot of her anxiety when she was going through a hard time. Khloe’s transformation was so incredible that E! gave her another show called Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian.
“Heartbreak Hair Loss”
While the Kardashians are known for having the most luscious and perfect-looking hair, thanks to their glam squads, you might not have noticed that Khloe has struggled with hair loss. She said that she is prone to hair loss when she gets really stressed or anxious.
Khloe started to notice it after her father’s death in 2003, so she started using hair extensions to help fill in the thin spots. Her hair loss increased again when she filed for divorce in 2013. See, Khloe is a human like everyone else.
In 2015, Khloe dealt with the aftermath of Kris’s divorce from Caitlyn Jenner and Caitlyn’s transition. If her life wasn’t stressful enough dealing with Odom’s issues, the divorce caused a rift between her and Caitlyn. She was only seven when the Olympian came into their lives.
Khloe looked at Caitlyn like a father, but the divorce and transition put a lot of stress on their relationship. Caitlyn bashed Kris in several interviews and then got mad at Khloe for not being more supportive. Today they rarely speak due to all the hateful comments Caitlyn made about the family.
Another Basketball Boy
If there’s one thing we know about Khloe, it’s that she loves herself a pro baller. After breaking up with French Montana and briefly dating Rick Fox, Khloe cozied up to NBA star James Harden. The pair met at Kanye West’s birthday party in June 2015.
Harden stuck by her side as Khloe dealt with Odom’s tragic health scare, but the two ultimately parted ways in February 2016. During their romance, Khloe was spotted sitting courtside at many of his games. He seemed like a good guy, but it wasn’t meant to be.
She Thought a Football Player Would Be Easier
Although Khloe has mostly dated basketball players, she once thought it would be easier to marry a football player. In 2009, Khloe was asked about Kim’s relationship with Reggie Bush. When the conversation worked its way to whether Khloe preferred basketball or football players, she had some thoughts.
Khloe said she would prefer a football player because they are home more, and she had no desire to date a basketball player. Things have clearly changed over the years, but Khloe was briefly linked to NFL player Odell Beckham Jr. in 2016.
How Tall Is Khloe Kardashian?
There might be a reason Khloe is always going for basketball players. They tend to be very tall men, and she is 5’10”. Khloe also loves to rock some seriously high heels, so she could be around 6’5” with a decent pair of heels.
Khloe has always felt massive next to her older sisters because Kim and Kourtney are 5-foot and 5’2”. Even when her sisters wear heels, she towers over them. Luckily, her younger half-sister, Kendall Jenner, is the same height as Khloe, so she has a tall buddy in the family.
Hopping On the Drama-Coaster
After her split from Harden and a fling with Trey Songz, Khloe’s best friend Malika Haqq introduced her to NBA player Tristan Thompson. Yes, we are rolling our eyes at the sound of his name too. The pair met in 2016, and things heated up quickly.
Within a few weeks of knowing each other, Khloe and Thompson were traveling everywhere from Mexico to Miami. Khloe started spending more time in Cleveland, where he played basketball. They seemed genuinely happy, but she had no idea what the future would hold for her and Thompson.
Early Warning Signs
In December 2016, Khloe and Thompson spent their first holiday season together. She shared an adorable post of the two on Instagram, but social media doesn’t always show the full picture. That same month, Thompson’s ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig, gave birth to his fourth child.
Reports circulated that Khloe and Thompson began their relationship while Craig was pregnant, causing them to break up. Craig also mentioned the overlapping timeline in court documents. However, Khloe denied the claims. It should have been a red flag for her.
She Felt Happy Again
In a now-deleted blog post from January 2017, Khloe wrote about her relationship with Thompson. She shared, “It’s such a great feeling that I have my happy back. It’s from a genuine place and the most peaceful place I’ve been in for longer than I can remember.”
She had been through so much with Odom, and Khloe finally felt like she was in a positive relationship. A few months later, she expressed that she and Thompson talked about starting a family together. However, she wasn’t in a rush to get married again.
Baby on the Way
In September 2017, rumors circulated that Khloe was pregnant with Thompson’s child. However, she didn’t confirm the exciting news until December of that year. In the past, Khloe shared that she wanted to be a mom and tried to get pregnant while married to Odom.
On KUWTK, Khloe spoke to her fertility doctor and discovered her she had a hormone imbalance that would have made it hard for her to get pregnant. Worried that something would go wrong, Khloe waited about six months into her pregnancy to share the big news.
Does Khloe Kardashian Have Kids?
On April 12, 2018, Khloe gave birth to her daughter True Thompson in Cleveland, Ohio. She had moved there for the latter half of her pregnancy to be closer to Thompson during his basketball season. Her whole family was in the room when she gave birth.
The birth was documented for KUWTK, and it was a beautiful moment to see Khloe finally become a mom. However, her family and friends were concerned for her health when she went into labor due to her high stress levels.
The First of Many Cheating Scandals
Just days before Khloe was due to give birth, videos surfaced of Thompson kissing another woman in a New York nightclub. He was also photographed entering a hotel with the same woman. Then TMZ released a video from October 2017 showing Thompson kissing two women at a club.
Khloe tried to focus on preparing for the baby and labor, but it was a lot to handle. Everyone was angry with Thompson, but she still let him in the delivery room. Khloe said she didn’t want to take that moment away from Thompson and her daughter.
Stuck in Cleveland
Although Khloe needed the support of her family, she was stuck in Cleveland after giving birth. She shared a house with Thompson, which only complicated things further. She tweeted that they had to do a lot of rebuilding to coexist, and he needed to earn her trust.
Khloe was also stuck there because she couldn’t travel with True until she was at least three months old. Therefore, Khloe decided to stick it out and make things work with Thompson. Although many didn’t agree with her decision, it is her life to live.
Rekindling the Romance
After the cheating scandal, Khloe and Thompson laid low for the summer but were spotted on vacation in Mexico in August 2018. They also celebrated Thanksgiving together in Cleveland because Thompson’s basketball schedule didn’t allow him to travel to LA.
While they were spotted hand-in-hand on date nights in early 2019, Khloe started to keep things private. She spent less time in Cleveland, and people said she acted like a single mom. She received so much backlash for staying with Thompson, so Khloe wanted to keep her relationship status a secret.
He Crossed the Line (Again)
Khloe and Thompson worked hard to rebuild their relationship, but in February 2019, he ruined everything. Thompson reportedly made out with Kylie Jenner’s now ex-best friend, Jordyn Woods, at an after-party at his house. Khloe seemingly confirmed the news by posting cryptic Instagram messages.
After this major betrayal, Khloe and Thompson were officially over. Although she was angry and hurt by what he did, they still had to figure out how to co-parent for True. As the child of divorced parents, Khloe didn’t want her daughter not to have memories with Thompson.
Launching a Brand
In between all the relationship and family drama, Khloe had time to launch her brand Good American with business partner Emma Grede. The company started by selling jeans ranging from sizes 00 to 24 in 2016. The company made $1 million in sales on the first day.
Khloe has since expanded the brand to include workout clothes, dresses, shapewear, and maternity clothes. As of 2021, Good American had an estimated value of $12.7 million. While her sister’s brand SKIMS sells similar products, they do not feel like they are competing with each other.
Back on the Tristan-Coaster
After everything they had been through, Thompson shared that he wanted to get back together with Khloe. They spent more time together during the pandemic because the basketball season was on hold, and he had more time in LA. Khloe was happy that True got to spend time with her dad.
By July 2020, Khloe decided to give Thompson one more chance to prove himself. They were reportedly back together. She also sparked engagement rumors when she sported a massive diamond ring on her ring finger in April 2021.
Is It Really Over?
There were mixed emotions when Khloe decided to take Thompson back again. But he claimed that he was ready to commit and settle down with her. Khloe and Thompson never confirmed or denied that they were officially in a relationship again.
Khloe even talked about having another child with Thompson via surrogate. In 2021, Khloe said she trusted Thompson and threw him a huge 30th birthday party. Unfortunately, this bliss didn’t last long because he cheated on her again during the weekend-long celebrations in Texas.
Who Is Khloe Kardashian Dating?
Towards the end of 2021, Maralee Nichols, a model from Texas, said she was expecting Thompson’s child. While Khloe was busy throwing Thompson a birthday party, he was getting another girl pregnant. Thompson tried to deny everything, but DNA doesn’t lie.
When Nichols gave birth in December 2021, a paternity test revealed that he was the father. This was the last straw for Khloe, and she cut Thompson off. She is not currently dating anyone, but Thompson publicly apologized and admitted to his infidelity. He is still True’s father and remains in their lives.
She Is Very Religious
Khloe has shared that she is very religious and grew up going to church every Sunday. She reads a daily devotional to herself and her glam squad every day. Khloe’s relationship with spirituality and religion has changed over the years, but she remains strong in her faith.
Maybe she should pray that Thompson can get his act together and keep his you-know-what in his pants. All jokes aside, Khloe has said that her religion and beliefs have helped her get through many difficult times in her life.
How Much Is Khloe Kardashian Worth?
As of 2022, Khloe’s net worth is an estimated $50 million, thanks to her role as an executive producer and star of KUWTK and its many spin-offs. She also had her shows Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian on E! and Twisted Sisters on Investigation Discovery.
In addition to her work as a producer, Khloe’s Good American company is booming. Thanks to her 227 million Instagram followers, she also gets a massive payout whenever she posts a partnered post. She reportedly makes about $600,000 per post. She might not be the richest sister, but she is raking in the big bucks.
She Maxed Out Her First Credit Card
Although she now has plenty of money to spend, Khloe once maxed out her first credit card in one day. When she was 18, Khloe got a Victoria’s Secret credit card and reached the limit within one shopping trip. She didn’t have enough money to pay it back, so she ignored the bill.
Khloe’s parents wanted to teach her a lesson about money, so they refused to pay the bill for her. Khloe didn’t pay the bill for three years. She said the bill still impacts her credit score. We guess she learned her lesson about paying bills on time.
Plastic Surgery Rumors
For years, there have been many rumors about what plastic surgery Khloe has had done. People have commented about her changing face in photos due to editing and plastic surgery in recent years. Khloe admitted that she had a nose job and got fillers in her face.
Many users comment on Khloe’s Instagram pictures that she had a “face transplant,” but she doesn’t care what they say. Khloe never addressed her nose job because “no one ever asked.” She isn’t afraid to admit what she did, but the hateful comments make her insecure.
Focusing on Her Family
With all the scandals that have happened in the past few years between Khloe and Thompson, she is now focused on her daughter and family. Khloe has put on a brave face for True and keeps herself busy by going to the gym and hanging out with her sisters.
Although Thompson will always be in her life because they share a child, she is no longer putting up with his BS. Khloe is a devoted mom, and True is her first priority. She was also recently seen in Miami for Kim’s SKIMS Swim launch.
