Back in Hollywood’s golden era, the “Hollywood marriage” meant high society marriage between stars in the movie industry. It was all about the glitz and the glamor. But these days, a Hollywood marriage comes with a whole different vibe, and it’s a lot more negative. Now, celebrity marriages are expected to be short, likely ending in divorce. And fans and the media alike are quick to point their fingers as them.
But despite the long-standing belief that Hollywood marriages and relationships don’t last, there are famous couples who defy the odds. We just don’t hear about them as much. Maybe because they just don’t make so much noise, or perhaps the secret to their longevity is keeping their personal lives as private as possible. The point is: not all Hollywood relationships are doomed to fail.
This is a list (in order) of the longest Hollywood marriages yet. Let’s start from the bottom!
Robert Redford & Sibylle Szaggars: 24 Years and Counting
It’s never a bad idea to start anything with Robert Redford. Redford married his first wife, Lola Van Wagenen, at a very young age. They were married for 27 years before their divorce, and are still good friends. It turns out that Robert really knows and appreciates longevity, because his second marriage is in for the long haul, too.
It’s his second wife, Sibylle Szaggars, who he loves to talk about in interviews. He doesn’t hesitate to boast about his wife and compliment her in public. Robert and Sibylle have been together since 1996. They took things rather slow as they had been together for 13 years before they finally got married in 2009. In total, the couple has been together for 24 years now.
Brian Wilson & Melinda Ledbetter: 25 Years and Counting
In 1986, Beach Boy Brian Wilson met Melinda Kae Ledbetter, a car saleswoman, and the two hit it off. They got married almost a decade later in 1995. It took some time to tie the knot because, after their first three years of dating, she ended the relationship. But, by 1992, they reconnected and rekindled their romance. Three years later, it was official.
During an interview with ABC News, Wilson had said that it was pretty much love at first sight when he met Melinda at the Cadillac dealership. Ledbetter chimed in and added that he was nice, and that’s what attracted her to him. She said how eventually she understood that his first love was his music and that she was okay with coming in second place. She supports him all the way!
Steve & Nancy Carell: 25 Years and Counting
These two funny people met at an improve class no less! Their romance began after the acting/improve class they took together, and by 1995, Nancy Wells exchanged her vows with Steve Carell. The two became co-correspondents on Jon Stewart’s previous show, the Daily Show, and also shared some screen time on The Office. It comes as no surprise that Carell said that one of the reasons he loves his wife is because they share the same sense of humor.
On a piece that he wrote for The Guardian, Carell shared his personal thoughts on marriage, saying that he knew from the beginning that Nancy was “the one.” He initially thought that she just didn’t feel the same way, but he learned later on that she was just nervous about getting into a relationship.
Ted Danson & Mary Steenburgen: 27 Years and Counting
When actors Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson met in 1993, they both had pretty much given up on relationships and finding true love. Danson was fresh out of a breakup with Casey Coates, his first wife, which came right after a very publicized breakup with Whoopi Goldberg. Then Danson met Steenburgen while filming Pontiac Moon. Fitting as it is, they played husband and wife.
Steenburgen later told Good Housekeeping that every day Danson tells her that she’s beautiful, explaining that things like that make all the difference in a relationship. She also added, rather jokingly, that she found comfort in Danson even before they met as she would always turn to the TV show, Cheers, whenever she was feeling down.
Warren Beatty & Annette Bening: 28 Years and Counting
28 years later and actors Warren Beatty and Annette Bening are still an inspirational couple. In an interview with Us Weekly, Beatty said that he credits his wife as being the glue that holds the marriage together. He explained how he is her biggest fan, and it shows whenever he gets the opportunity to support her, always turning up to red carpet events together, for instance.
The two got married back in 1992 after meeting on the set of the 1991 movie, Bugsy. They have four children together, who are all grown up now. Bening revealed that their kids are part of the formula that makes it all work, too. She shared that one secret to lasting marriages is raising children together, in unison, and creating a happy family.
Bruce Springsteen & Patti Scialfa: 29 Years and Counting
Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa met in the 80s at a bar in New Jersey called The Stone Pony. Patti had actually graced the stage alongside Springsteen’s friend Bobby Bandiera. It didn’t take long until she was officially introduced to Bruce. They started out as friends, and Scialfa even joined Springsteen on tour in 1984. But their friendship evolved into a romance.
A few years later, in 1990, they had a son, and by 1991, they settled down and got married. They went on to have two more kids, and 29 years later, the two are still happy together. Springsteen later shared that he had suffered through depression, and it was Patti who helped him through it. He explained how she was both strong and stable enough to help him deal with it and heal, and that’s what bonded them even more.
Steven Spielberg & Kate Capshaw: 29 Years and Counting
Director extraordinaire Steven Spielberg met his “leading lady” while he was filming the 1984 movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. At the time, Spielberg already married to Amy Irving, but there was a spark between him and Kate that he couldn’t ignore. By the time he ended his first marriage, he and Kate were an item. After a couple of years of dating, they tied the knot in 1991.
Kate was also previously married, and each of them has a child from their previous relationships, in addition to the five have as a couple. Spielberg always gushes over her, declaring that he’s proud to be her husband. He told USA Today when the film Lincoln earned 12 Oscar nominations in 2013, her message to him melted his heart. She said that she was proud of him.
Willie Nelson & Annie D’Angelo: 29 Years and Counting
Willie Nelson, the musician, actor, and activist had three failed marriages before ending up with Annie D’Angelo. In Willie’s case, it looks like the fourth time’s a charm. He and Annie have been married for 29 years now, as they tied the knot in 1991. The country superstar describes his wife as a truly special person who was able to get through to him in ways his ex-wives simply couldn’t.
Nelson also gives credit to Annie for their long and successful marriage. He explained that she is devoted to him and has stood by his side through it all. She was there through all of his drug-related arrests and always helped and encouraged him to be healthier. At 86 years old, Nelson is in a happy place and loves being with his family.
Alex Trebek & Jean Currivan: 30 Years and Counting
The legendary game show host married Jean Currivan in 1990, and the two have been inseparable ever since. The couple has a son named Matthew, who is now all grown-up, of course, and working as a New York-based restaurateur. Trebek once told People that before he and Jean became romantic, they were “just friends.”
Currivan shared that it’s his intelligence, curiosity, and humor that she finds so endearing, and Trebek went said that Currivan was his anchor while he is battling pancreatic cancer. The 79-year-old is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and Jean admitted that the hardest thing is seeing Alex “in pain, and I can’t help him.” But he did get news in 2019 that his tumors were shrinking. All the best to Alex and Jean!
Michael J. Fox & Tracy Pollan: 31 Years
I think this relationship goes down as one of the more inspiring ones. In 1985, when both Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan auditioned for roles on the hit show, Family Ties, the two met and hit it off. Three years later, in 1988, they were walking down the aisle and making it official. After three decades have passed, with four children in the mix, the two couldn’t be any more in love.
Through sickness and in health, right? Fox has suffered through alcohol addiction and is still battling Parkinson’s disease, but through thick and thin, Pollan has always stood by his side. Talk about unconditional love! Fox once revealed that their secret to longevity is how they keep the fights clean along, and they maintain an exciting intimate life.
Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick: 32 Years and Counting
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedwickgot married in 1988, which means they have been married for 32 years. And it turns out that these are two are a couple of social media romantics. They have succumbed to and even embraced media as a way of expressing their sentiments towards each other. For example, back in 2015, Bacon posted that they were celebrating 9,855 incredible days together. How sweet.
Bacon and Sedwick are among the unfortunate who lost huge sums of money to Bernard Madoff’s infamous Ponzi scheme. They actually lost their entire retirement investment, since they’re both hard workers, they were able to bounce back. In a 2018 interview with Redbook, Sedwick said, “I don’t think our relationship is more or less difficult; I just think you both make the commitment and you make it work.”
Tom Hanks & Rita Wilson: 32 Years and Counting
It comes as no surprise that Hollywood’s good guy Tom Hanks has been happily married for a while. He and Rita Wilson, the actress, and producer, have enjoyed 32 years of matrimony and counting! They met on the set of the sitcom Bosom Buddies in 1981, which Hanks starred in for two years. Wilson appeared on one episode as a guest. It was enough for Hanks to feel an immediate connection.
“Rita and I just looked at each other and — kaboing — that was that,” Hanks said. “I asked Rita if it was the real thing for her, and it just couldn’t be denied.” The two got married in 1988. Hanks once said, “The only thing we ever argue about is who loves each other more…”
Tom Selleck & Jillie Mack: 33 Years and Counting
For Tom Selleck, it was his second marriage that stuck. He was previously married to Jaqueline Ray from 1971 to 1982. But once he saw Jillie Mack performing in the musical Cats in the 80s, he was smitten. They met, got to know each other, started dating, and made it official in 1987 when they got married. From that day on, Selleck prioritized his family above all else.
According to Selleck, their happy relationship is built on a nurturing marriage and one 100% commitment. He established a life away from the Hollywood tension and created a strong bond with his wife. They like to consult one another in their decision making and always respect each other. And I gotta say, if he’s anything like Richard (on Friends), then he’s a keeper.
Toby Keith & Tricia Lucus: 36 Years and Counting
Toby Keith Covel is as much a famous country singer as he is a hopeless romantic, which is how his wife describes him. He and Tricia Lucus are going strong at 36 years together in their successful marriage. The couple has three children, two of whom are theirs, and the other was adopted by Keith.
In an interview with Country Weekly, Keith was happy to praise his wife for everything from believing in him to supporting him to sticking by his side until his music career finally took off. They share the importance of appreciating your spouse. For example, Lucus mentioned that Keith likes to surprise her with flowers on occasions, even after decades of being together.
Sam Elliott & Katharine Ross: 36 Years and Counting
You can’t talk about Sam Elliot without mentioning his mustache and his silky voice, which is equally as famous. It’s basically the reason he would always land roles in Westerns. Elliot has been married actress Katharine Ross since 1984. The two met in 178 when they were both on the set of the Western film, The Legacy.
Funny thing is, the two never shared a scene together. And only later did Sam reveal that he was truly smitten by her from the days of filming Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid back in 1969. Their marriage secret, as Elliot put it, is working out their problems together instead of walking away from them.

Kurt Russell & Goldie Hawn: 37 Years and Counting
This smiley couple has been together for a whopping 37 years. They met way back in 1966 on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. But that wasn’t when they started going out. They didn’t start dating until they met again in 1983, this time on the set of Swing Shift. The two have been inseparable ever since.
But let it be known that they aren’t officially married. They are, however, what would be called common law. Hawn that she “would have been long divorced if I’d been married. Marriage is an interesting, psychological thing. If you need to feel bound to something, then it’s important to be married.” From the words of Goldie, folks.
Sting & Trudie Styler: 37 Years and Counting
First, I want to mention that Sting has a real name, and it’s Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner. Okay, so Sting and his wife, actress and film producer Trudie Styler, have been together for 37 years. They decided to move in together after Sting had split from his first wife Frances Tomelty in 1984. He and Trudie were living together for years until they walked down the aisle in 1992.
Considering each of their work, the couple has to live separately from time to time. And in their opinion, it has actually helped spice up their marriage. They admit that they still feel like two teenagers in love. The two have four children together. Their daughter, Eliot Sumner, is also making waves in the music industry with her band called I Blame Coco.
Steven & Maureen Van Zandt: 38 Years and Counting
Here’s one for the Sopranos fans and music lovers alike. These two even appeared on The Sopranos as the married couple Silvo and Gabrielle Dante. Steven and Maureen have been married since 1982, and you know who officiated their wedding? None other than Little Richard! Bruce Springsteen was his best man, and Percy Sledge sang one of his classics for the couple at their reception.
Maureen had stood by her husband through it all, even when singer Jennifer Lopez forgot his name during a live taping of American Idol in 2016; (Steven was invited to the show to mentor some of the contestants). If you’re curious, he wears all those bandanas and large hats to cover the scars he got on his head as a result of a car accident he got into during his teens.
Denzel & Pauletta Washington: 37 Years and Counting
Sorry, ladies, but Denzel is off the market, and he has been for 37 years now. Hollywood heavyweight Denzel Washington has been amazing his fans for years, and it looks like he never ceases to amaze his wife Pauletta either. Denzel once said that his greatest life project was his family.
Denzel met Pauletta on the set of the first screen work he ever did, the TV movie Wilma. They have four children: John David (also an actor and a former football player), Katia, and twins Olivia and Malcolm. To prove how much these two are in love, they renewed their vows in 1995 in South Africa. As of 2008, they live in an apartment in New York City.
Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman: 38 Years
Most people will recognize this Hollywood duo as the parents from ‘Matilda.’ The two were happily married for 38 years until they famously split in 2017. “It’s not in his face or in mine. It was a hard transition… but everything smoothed out,” Rhea Perlman explained of their split. “Everybody’s got a good relationship with Danny, and with me and each other. That’s all we care about.”
The two actually split up and reconciled a couple of times. 2017 was the last time they split up, and as of now, they aren’t together. That said, they have yet to officially file for divorce. So, who knows, maybe they will get back together for the third time. As for now, they’re both on the market, folks!
Bono & Ali Hewson: 38 Years and Counting
Bono doesn’t need any introductions, but maybe you haven’t heard of his wife, Ali Hewson. Like her husband, Ali is also a social activist herself. The two got married in 1982, meaning they’ve been married for 38 years! Hewson told Entertainment Tonight that they met when they were teenagers. After their first date, he walked her to her bus stop.
Bono refers to their marriage as a magical ride. He has explained that his wife is always by his side when he needs her the most. She gives him things to remember, like assuring him that when he is delivering speeches, he should look across to see that she’ll be there. The couple has four children, and their daughter, Eve Hewson, is a successful actress.
Chevy Chase & Jayni Luke: 38 Years and Counting
Comedy icon Chevy Chase is famous for his performances in the National Lampoon movies as well as ‘Saturday Night Live.’ He’s been married to writer Jayni for 38 years. Jayni is Chevy’s third wife and the founder of the Center for Environmental Education. Together they have daughters Cydney Chase, Caley Chase, and Emily Chase.
Chevy described how the two of them met. He revealed that they had both been working on a movie set, and Jayni was a production coordinator. When he tried to make his first move, she was far from interested. In his own words: “I was walking behind her one day, and I said, ‘Is that your real color hair?’ and she couldn’t care less about me.”
Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne: 38 Years and Counting
Everyone knows Ozzy Osbourne, regardless of whether or not you’re a fan. The lead singer of the band Black Sabbath has been famously married to for 38 wild years. And if you’re anything like me, these two were nothing short of entertaining to watch when they starred in their own reality TV show, ‘The Osbournes.” “Shaaaaroonnn!”
Sharon and Ozzy married in 1982. Shortly after tying the knot, they started having kids. Aimee was born in 1983, then Kelly followed in 1984, and Jack was last in 1985. Throughout the years and all the insanity, Ozzy had one woman stand by his side. Sharon has been there through ups and downs, the fame, and obviously the drugs. Their marriage seems to now be stronger than ever.
Samuel L. Jackson & LaTanya Richardson: 40 Years and Counting
Hollywood A-lister Samuel L. Jackson plays the serious and hardened guy in his movie roles, but the truth is he’s a big softie. He has nothing but love for his wife of 40 years, LaTanya Richardson. In 1980, Samuel married the actress and sports channel producer, whom he met while going to Morehouse College. The couple has a daughter, Zoe, who was born in 1982.
The two met in 1970 when they were studying in different colleges that were close to each other. When LaTanya first saw him, she thought he was “flamboyant, self-involved, and emotionally detached,” according to CBS News. But she eventually saw below that surface and realized that there was a goldmine of potential within him. Samuel says his first priority is his wife.
Henry Winkler & Stacey Weitzman: 42 Years and Counting
For anyone who hasn’t seen the HBO show, Barry, you should. Henry Winkler is in it and hilarious. Anyways, he and his wife Stacey Weitzman are another celebrity couple who have made it past the 40-year mark! That in itself is massively impressive! Winkler married Weitzman in 1978. They have two children: Max Daniel is a director, and Zoe Emily is a pre-school teacher.
Winkler is 75 and seemingly, not considering retirement anytime soon. He’s still busy with his acting career. He and his wife were at the 2019 Emmy Awards when Winkler earned an award for supporting actor on Barry. He once told Fox News that what that bonds them in their marriage is their joy of fly fishing. And in general, they relish in each other’s company.
Mark Hamill & Marilou York: 42 Years and Counting
Actor Mark Hamil, as everyone knows for his role in Star Wars, has been married to his wife Marilou longer than most actors in Hollywood can say. Their romance actually started after a visit to a Westwood dentist’s office where Marilou had been working as a dental hygienist. They met there and started dating, but he needed some time.
Hamil admitted that he wasn’t really ready to settle down when they were dating. It took a while for him to realize that he indeed wanted a family. They got married in 1978 and went on to have three children together. On Good Morning America, they shared their secret to longevity: avoiding party circuits and keeping things private. Short, sweet, and to the point.
Mel Brooks & Anne Bancroft: 41 Years
Actress Anne Bancroft will always be remembered for her role as Mrs. Robinson in ‘The Graduate.’ But she’s also famous for her long and loving marriage to the wildly successful comedy director Mel Brooks. They got married in 1964 and were married for a long 41 years before she eventually passed away in 2005.
The two met when Brooks spotted her when she was rehearsing a song-and-dance number for ‘The Perry Como Show.’ “She’s always pushed me,” Brooks said. “She’s always been an inspiration. She always thought I was talented. She believed in me right from the beginning as a songwriter as well as a screenplay writer or whatever I wanted to do. She said, ‘You can do it.'”
Don Gummer & Meryl Streep: 42 Years and Counting
Three-time Oscar-winner Meryl Streep is the best of the best. She’s one of the most admired and talented actresses ever, and it comes as no surprise that she has kept a long and fruitful marriage. Streep is married to Don Gummer, an American sculptor, and they’ve been together for over 42 years now.
He’s been by her side at events and award shows since they met in the late 70s, when 29-year-old Streep was mourning the loss of her then-boyfriend and Deer Hunter costar, John Cazale, who died of lung cancer in 1978. Streep was kicked out of their shared apartment, and her brother Harry arrived with his friend Don. Six months later, she and Don were married. And the rest is history.
Jeff Bridges & Susan Geston: 43 Years and Counting
Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges and Susan Geston, a fellow actor, are a happily married couple and have been together since 1977. In his typical Jeff Bridges way of speaking, he said sticking with marriage is “true grit, man.” Bridges wrote a piece for Reader’s Digest in 2006: “I don’t know how it is for women or for other guys, but when I was young and in my 20s, I had a fear of marriage.”
He continued with, “I thought it was a giant step toward death. So I did everything in my power to resist it, the idea was frightening to me, man.” They met while filming the move Montana, and he just couldn’t stop staring at her. Susan had been banged up from a recent car accident, but Bridges was captivated by her. “She had two black eyes and a broken nose, and I just couldn’t take my eyes off her,” he said.
Ron & Cheryl Howard: 45 Years and Counting
When director Ron Howard isn’t busy making his award-winning movies like ‘A Beautiful Mind’ and ‘Apollo 13,’ he likes to spend time with his wife, Cheryl, who’s also an actor. Ron and Cheryl were actually high school sweethearts, and their first date happened when they were both 16 years old. How cute! Well, they were smitten with each other because he eventually proposed.
The two got married in 1975 and have four children together; the oldest is actress Bryce Dallas Howard. “I felt really lucky when we met. It’s crazy. We were teenagers, it shouldn’t have worked. We got married young, that shouldn’t have worked either, and yet it really and truly has,” Howard later described of his marriage in an interview.
Sean Connery & Micheline Roquebrune: 45 Years and Counting
Another couple who got married in 1975 is Sean Connery and Micheline Roquebrune. Connery married the French-Moroccan painter, and the two have been married for 45 years now. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t dealt with difficulties. They encountered their fair share of issues throughout all those years. But in the end, it’s getting through the rain to enjoy the sunshine.
They both share similar passions in life, especially golf, which was at the heart of their relationship from the beginning. They met in 1970 at a golf tournament in Morocco, and their eyes met across the dinner table. Thing is, they were each in relationships at the time. Eventually, they met again and made it official. He still calls her “ma cherie” by the way.
Jack Fisk & Sissy Spacek: 46 Years and Counting
Anyone who saw ‘Carrie’ will always think of Sissy Spacek in her creepiest role ever. But she’s no creep in real life! She and Jack, a film production designer and director, got married in 1974. They have two daughters together. The loving couple met at the very beginning of Sissy’s acting career when they were both in their 20s.
They met on the set of the movie ‘Badlands’ in 1972. He was the art director for the movie, and two really hit it off. Their wedding came only two years later, and in real hippie style, they married privately at a small chapel in Santa Monica, wearing only jeans. Their only witness was Jack’s dog, which even signed their wedding license with his paw print!
Michael & Shakira Caine: 47 Years and Counting
Michael Caine is such a prolific English actor that his acting portfolio consists of 130 projects. It’s incredible to realize that Caine has enjoyed a seven decade-long career and at the age of 87, he’s still an active player. He married Shakira back in 1973, and they have a daughter by the name of Natasha.
Shakira has always been very supportive of his career, and she often graces the red carpet with him at big events. In 2018, Caine slipped and fell on ice and sustained an injury that left him relying on a cane to walk. But that hasn’t kept him from taking his wife on dates to keep the romance alive. In 2019, they were photographed heading out in Mayfair for a romantic dinner.
Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward: 62 Years
This famous Hollywood couple got married in 1958. Hollywood’s late great Paul Newman won an Oscar for his role in ‘The Color of Money.’ Joanne Woodward is best known for her role in ‘The Three Faces of Eve,’ which also earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Paul was famously quoted once, saying this about being loyal to his wife: “I have steak at home. Why would I want to go out for a hamburger?”
Who knew comparing your wife to a steak could be so flattering? Woodward and her late husband will forever remain as one of Hollywood’s greatest golden couples. They were married for 50 years before he passed away in 2008. He once explained that people need to make the conscious decision to stay married.
Christopher & Georgianne Walken: 51 Years and Counting
Is there anyone who doesn’t love Christopher Walken? I mean, he’s great. Well, one person certainly loves him, and that’s his wife of 51 years, Georgianne. The two have been married since 1969. While Christopher has expressed his interest in playing the role of a husband, he’s more often than not offered quirkier roles, like in ‘The Dead Zone’ and ‘True Romance.’
Georgianne herself is in the industry, too. She has been the casting director for more than 80 different TV shows and movies since 1991. Major titles include ‘The Sopranos’ and ‘Entourage.’ The two met on the set of West Side Story when she was acting, and the two played a couple. They fell in love for more than 51 years ago.
Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara: 51 Years
Comedy fans will know Jerry Stiller from his many film appearances and his most famous role as George’s dad Frank Costanza in ‘Seinfeld.’ And I gotta say that his role as Frank is epic, to say the least. Sadly, Jerry’s wife of 51 years, Anne Meara, died in 2015. They had two kids together, including actor and director Ben Stiller. You know him, right?
Jerry and Anne first met in 1953 at their agent’s office in New York. He asked her out for coffee, and she agreed. Anne had said that it was more or less love at first. She said she knew straight away that he was the man that she would marry one day. Later in their careers, they professionally reunited when they both had roles on the same shows, including ‘King of Queens,’ ‘Heavyweights,’ and ‘Archie Bunker’s Palace.’
Don & Barbara Rickles: 52 Years
The late insult-comic Don Rickles had a sharp tongue when he was on stage, but he and his wife, Barbara, lived happily ever after together for 52 years before he passed. The two got married in 1962. In 2017, Barbara escaped injury in a two-car crash involving a large truck in Malibu. The 82-year-old is okay. Don, by the way, was 90 when he passed.
Don Rickles left Barbara, their daughter Mindy, and their two grandchildren behind. But before his death, tragedy already hit Barbara and Don when their son Larry passed away in 2011 from pneumonia. He was 41 years old. Larry was best known for producing the 2007 HBO film, ‘Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project,’ which was a documentary on his father.
Bob & Ginny Newhart: 57 Years and Counting
Stand-up comedian Bob Newhart has been married to his wife Ginny for 57 years. The two met on a blind date that had been set up by a friend and fellow comedian, Buddy Hackett, in 1962. They got married in 1963 and have four children together. Bob is now 91 years old, and Ginny is 79. The old couple is still very much in love.
Ginny told City & Shore magazine in 2013 that a special evening for them will depend on their energy, but it usually involves time with friends or enjoying a nice meal at a restaurant. She added that most of the time, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband at their own home, and that’s probably her key to a healthy relationship.
James Garner & Lois Clarke: 58 Years
This famous couple wed in 1956, which was only 14 days after having first met! James Garner died in 2014, but he was married to Lois Clarke for 58 years. He once said this about married life: “Marriage is like the Army; everyone complains, but you’d be surprised at a large number of people who re-enlist.”
In 1956, before Garner had become a famous actor, the pair met at a friend’s pool party and once again a few days later at a Democratic presidential rally. He asked her out to dinner that night, to which she accepted. They had dinner together every night for the next fourteen nights.
We have reached the end of the list. I hope you enjoyed the celebrity relationship goals!
